The Mission of the Macatawa Driving School LLC is to prepare students to become successful defensive drivers.

• To provide an academic and a practical driving program to enhance the development of each student so that he or she may become a safe and successful defensive driver.
• To provide a learning environment that will enable each student to reach his or her full potential and to develop a positive attitude and self-confidence in their driving abilities.

• The classroom experience is engaging, interactive, and is taught to hold teens’ interests.
• The driving portion includes a variety of driving experiences with an experienced instructor.
• Our cars are equipped with an extra brake and sign for highest safety in mind and are fully insured.
• Driving also includes range, where students drive alone in a driver education car practicing specific maneuvers such as backing, parking, stops, turns, and the drive test parking procedures.
  

Rob Ockerse (Mr. O), owner of the Macatawa Driving School, has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree in Education from Grand Valley State University. He has taught since 1990 in Zeeland Schools. Serving as Director for Zeeland’s Driver Education program for eight years and continued growth of experience as a driver instructor the past 17 years for Hamilton, Jenison, and Zeeland, has given what Macatawa Driving School needs to train up future drivers and work with parents to achieve excellence with their teens.
